Some stroke harder than the rest and
soon these plywood pilots are barreling two abreast off the ramp. Each skater flies
through the air, uniquely interpreting the time between launching and landing. One
human-projectile bails and body rolls out of the landing zone, his board remains
flopped over on its back, creating an obstacle for the next three already committed
skaters. The lead skater eyes the stray stick before unavoidably landing his board
directly upon it, locking truck to truck. He's pitched forth and forced to run clear
of the onslaught behind him.

The
he next two riders are getting off
before they've even had a chance to peak a maneuver. Wildly contorted, they try
to navigate a boardless, two-point landing stance. Oblivious to the situation, several
more skaters launch and add to the pile-up. Within moments all brush themselves
off and regroup back at the line. Several younger grommets use the opportunity
to snake into the session, creating a chaotic chain reaction of their own. The con-
tinuous assaults last for hours as new skaters show up to replace the bored, the
broken, the damaged.
