1. Approach the coping as if you were
going to do a frontside grind
2. Prepare to grab the nose of your
board with your trailing hand
3. This is the most important part: as
you grab the board, whip your hips
around and lay back a little. This will
help you slide. Now pull up on the nose
as you grab on tight
4. O.K., you're sliding. You're in there.
Start to lean in toward the transition.
5. Let go of the board, stay centered
over it and ride down the transition,
