The sun went down, then the
moon came up over what was to be
a quazi-chaotic early evening of
musical madness. It all happened at
San Francisco's ex-burlesque an-
cient hard-core music-venue, the On
Broadway, where, from out of
Boston, came the Budweiser-
powered rock machine, Gang
Green, who again graced another
stage with their brew of rock and roll.
These guys don't just stand around
when they play. Imagine a ping-pong
match with six players on each side
and about forty-seven balls blasting
back and forth. Eyeball hell!, but a
good chainsaw session on the ears.
When they finished, they lent much
of their equipment to the next band,
who are virtual icons in the realm of
modern day punk.. The Adoles
cents, back after who knows how
many years. Whether people realize
it or not, this band is partially respon
sible for much of the style and
dischord of many bands over the last
few years. Tony Cadena's vocal
style and delivery is as influential to
the male hardcore punk vocal style
as Souixsie-Souix has been to
many female vocalists. The
Adolescents stumbled their way
through an exploding amp plagued
set, covering what had to be virtual-
ly every one of their tunes. The
highlight of the night came when
Tony climbed the PA stacks at stage
right, sang for awhile, then grabbed
the antique red velvet stage curtain,
ripping it and swinging it down
Tarzan-style to center stage....
Much confusion and haze have sett

ready to release a re-vamped edition

leading the pack of the glam-thang
out of LA, top of the heap style, and
are formidably pure rock, rock, rock!
Next question: what was Arthur
Kane, (ex-New York Dolls) doing on
stage with them at a recent gig at the
L.A. Roxy? What about them Cat
Heads? Originally a part-time giggin'
band from San Francisco, the Cat
Heads have expanded and decided
to play with more frequency in an-
ticipation and support of their up-
coming rock/pop/country-flavored
album. If it hasn't come to your at-

seems that Los Angeles City At-

brought forth the charges, deems
that the content of the album is
"harmful." Jello and co-defendants
intend to fight this charge on First
Amendment charges, claiming it a

pornography issue. If the D.K.'s lose
this case, what's to stop the law from
