CHEVALRY
Hey man, what's the problem? I
looked at the cover of my March
issue of THRASHER and saw some
dude riding on top of a Chevy. I am
a devoted skater and a Chevy lover.
So come on guys, show some class.
Next time have them ride on a shitty
Ford.

SUICIDAL VICE
Newton Falls, OH
Freak! No, it's just Suicidal Ten-
dencies on Miami Vice. Who knows
why? Has the show gone hardcore?
What an amazing image change, too
bad it won't get me watching it every
Friday. Who knows, maybe the next
show will have skating. I don't care
to see. After all, Hosoi did the B.O.C.
video.

IF JODY COULD SEE US NOW!
Just like THRASHER, 1986 marks
the fifth anniversary of JFA. Yes, we
are alive and skating. Although wo
are spread out a bit distance-wise,
we remain united to the music and
the skating. Anything can be Skate-
rock, including Bach (we skated giant
pipes to the theme from "Rollerball").
If you define "skaterock' as having
skaters in the band, then you'll have
to go back to Duane Peters (Po-
litical Crap"), Olson and the Joneses
and even an unconfirmed rumour of
Kent Sentore in UX.A., plus many
many other skaters that have made
music through time. A guy in the Star-
ship even skates.
We would just like to say "hi" to all
of the skaters out there everywhere!
When we started, skating wasn't "in."
That was back when slam dancing
or "thrashing" was called the H.B.
strut (Huntington Beach) for the in-
novators of that particular style - al-
ways up front and dead center. A
skate band in those days was
thought ridiculous, some were told.
Brian was hassled for the paisley at-
tire and now look at it: "Different is
available in the mall and likewise
skating becomes the norm. Brian
eventually issued a challenge to all
of the skatebands that followed, be-
cause, let's face it, a lot of people
are pushed by skating and they can't
even ride a board. Some parties
emitted heavy vibes because they
were too concerned about their
"skate rock" image. On the other side
of the coin, we have skated with lots
of cool bands all across this country
and Canada. If somebody said I
couldn't skate, I'd either laugh and
ride away or blow them out bacause
I could care less who thinks I skate
as long as I have fun at it. We will
continue to skate and play as long
as we have fun doing it, remaining
loosely knit, like a good pool ses-
sion. If it's happening we'll be there
(you don't have to bother to call). For
all the criticism we generate: do your
own thing rather than criticize some-
one else's, because in the words fo
the late Darby Crash (skater).
"You're walking in my tunnel." Keep
skating we will.

son Starship, somewhere around
78. Need we say more. Thanx Don,
and JFA. Ted.
