Video
Desperate Teenage Love Dolls, is
a rad film that is on a par with John
Waters (Pink Flamingo, Polyester
fame) early works. The quality isn't
the best, but it's alot of trashy film
The best thing about D.T.L.D. is the
soundtrack. If you haven't heard it
you'd better check it out. Most of the
music is by Hawthornes' rockin' long
hairs, REDD KROSS, as well as
great tracks by White Flag. Black
Flag, Sin 34, Greg & Greg, Nip Driv-
ers (who do a cover of the Sweets
"Fox on the Run") and Darkside. All
tracks are kiler, especially the
movies theme song, which is per-
formed by REDD KROSS. The plot
is basic: teen babe Kitty (or was it
Buffy) wants to rock out, but her
mom hassles her so she runs away
with her friend to form the world's
greatest all-girl rock band. They hit
the depths on the streets of Venice,
but are soon "discovered" by rock
impressario/sleaze bag. Johnny
Tremaine (played by Steve
McDonald) who rockets them to
stardom in exchange for sexual
abuse (don't worry Moms, it's a PG
film). There's a girl gang. "The She
Devils and well, I won't give it all
away, D.T.A.L.D. has all the ingre-
dients for your classic rock'n'roll
exploitation film: DRUGS, SEX and
VIOLENCE. Other than the fact that
only half the songs on the sound-
track LP actually appear in the film,
and that the sound quality is really
shitty, the flick has its humorous mo-
ments. D.T.ALD. runs about 40 mi-

Here, playing with a vengence,
are four girls from Canada. Those
six songs leave me wanting to hear
way-more. The title song is a good
example of the bands sound; lots
and lots of guitars, solid drumming
and great vocals by Jake Moore.
The song, 'G.I. Joe,' condemns the
U.S. Military and its image of being
"Hero of the Year." My favorite song
closes the album, Hollow Heroes,
is fast and powerful. The song is car-
ried along by Margaret Fonseca's
guitar playing, and when it's over, all
I can say is, "Play it again 'ANNES,
or better yet, make another record
with more songs.

Mama pour me a cup. Ya think I'm
psycho don'tcha mama? You better
let them lock me up.
These guys are from Australia,
and you should buy their album!
