WIMPY OR WHAT?
The bolts holding my rear truck onto my
deck used to get real loose all the time. Al-
most everyday I would have to re-tighten
them. I just chucked it up to aggressive
skating. Although I haven't changed my
skate style, the bolts never get loose any-
more Does this mean that I have become a
totally wimpy skater? Please answer fast
Thanks a lot.
Aaron in Daly City, CA
PS. If I have become a wimpy skater, what
will I do?

Now this sounds serious. What you
have here is a common and recurring
problem that skaters have. First your
truck bolts are loose then suddenly and
miraculously they've become tight once
again. To this day no one has been able
to answer this plaguing question. As far
as your becoming a wimpy skater I re-
ally couldn't tell you. Just keep skating
as always and if nothing goes wrong.
don't complain.
CONSTRUCTION OR DESTRUCTION
Dear Dr
I have a slight problem I was hoping you
could help me with. You see, I've got this
quarter pipe and I want to make a %. Is
there a way I could preserve the and just
add on, or would I have to re-construct the
whole thing? What's your opinion?
Thanx
Sincerely,

Sure go ahead and add on to that
sucker. It's amazing what you can do
with wood. If you have enough material I
would suggest you start from scratch.
but it shouldn't be mandatory. Go ahead
and build another pipe the same way
and then slap 'em together with a little
flat in between. If that's not good
enough, find a pool.

ALL TERRAIN
Hello Dr. Rick
I've been senously skating for quite a
while now For the longest time, when I
started ramps were so rare Ineglected to
ride them Four months ago I decided to
start skating ramps daily. At first I progres
sed fast. I was grinding hard after 2 weeks
but after that it was all downhill I can shred
any ditch major but vert and I don't get
along My airs land in the fiat and my axie
stalls are really sick. It seems to me that if
you can skate one medium good it should
carry over is there anything I'm doing
wrong? Should I quit ditches and concen
trate on ramps? Is this common among
ditch riders? Do good ramp riders suck in
ditches? I need some help
Thank you muchly

Some skaters do tend to ride a certain
terrain better than another. But there's
no reason why, with enough due prac-
tice and urge to do so, that you
shouldn't be able to ride pools, pipes or
just about anything. If riding vertical
surfaces doesn't appeal to you then just
keep grinding ditches. But, if that's not
enough then vertical is for you. Take
your time and practice as much as pos-
sible. Just Skate.
SKATER INFESTATION
Dr. Rick,
How about a listing of all the active skate
parks? Hopefully setting up a tour of
California Skateparks for 20 midwest skat
ers. Just for fun. But this list would be very
helpful in contacting the parks.

You're in luck check out the trash sec-
tion. You'll find a fairly complete listing
of most open and operating skate parks
in the nation. I'm talking Nationwide.
