Now for the last but definitely not least
important item. As the saying goes, a board
is only as good as the sum of its parts. So
even if you've scored the killer street stick
with rails, and found yourself with the right
trucks complete with plastic, and riser
pads, but find yourself with 99A durometer
wheels, then you're hating life.
The ideal situation with wheels is to have
2 sets for the varying conditions which one
encounters in the street. For really rough
terrain (drainage ditches, etc.) and every-
day transportation, it's a good idea to have
the old red Krypto's, 65-70mm, on standby.
70mm will give you good speed and a
smooth ride, for a rough ditch, yet still ena-
ble you to roll over the stray boulder you
might chance upon while skating to the
store, girlfriend's house, etc.
For more conventional street skating (i.e.
curbs, banks, etc.) any street wheel cur-
rently marketed by a major manufacturer:
should do the trick, the choice is yours..
Rule of thumb: buy one that works.
