APTOS, CALIFORNIA
Look carefully at the photos. This
is in Aptos, California. Photo #1 &2
are at the "Wall" in Rio Del Mar
Aptos, the skater is David Cordaro,
age 15.
Photo #3 is of the cement half
pipe which is half secret. The skater
is Gordon Dent, age 15%, the first
drop in his life time. Notice his
face-Oh!! shit.
There may not be too mnay
thrilling things going on here but
there are many skate spots such as
a couple killer halfpipes and an
empty pool, the Wall, etc......
Yours very truly,

EVANSTON, ILLINOIS
Even with the advent of more and
more backyard ramps your mag still
conveys the fact that the streets are
where it's at. I am part of an under-
ground street skate gang (CTO,
a.k.a. EKA or Evanston Kickers
Association). It all began about five
or six years ago with Keith (quarter-
master), Ivan, Commando, Mike,
etc. Later new members were
picked up (Hank, Matt, myself and
others too numerous to mention
here). Activities have included
being in a music video, testing
products for Tom Thumb, and
competing in half-pipe contests.
Recently the city council began
planning a halfpipe for us. But then
they rejected the idea because of
the expense. So, now we have
started building our own. Meanwhile
our immediate objective remains
street skating, and doing those
imperative street skate survival
maneuvers (i.e. boardsliding across
parking blocks, pulling "stairials" or
airs over stairs, endless ledge
tricks, and conducting downhill
races at two killish nearby garages.

NEWARK, CALIFORNIA
This is a picture of my friend Mike
Parente doing a cool carve on his 8
foot pool. He bet me $50.00 that you
wouldn't print it in the next issue of
Thrasher magazine. If you have
room, squeeze it in photografitti. We
were very careful not to scrape our
backs on the diving board, but we
did catch some gnarly grinds. I was
in San Jose last weekend and I was
lucky enough to catch Steve Cabal-
lero in a gas station filling his motor
cycle with gas. I got his autograph
and he wrote "The Faction" down
also. How's that for killer luck?
Thanks for your time and out-
standing effort!

WEST GERMANY
I'm writing to tell you about the
scene in Marl, West Germany. We
(about 12 skaters) already have
plans to build a halfpipe but at the
moment we still have to save
money. So we mostly skate street
and banks. On the photo you can
see my brother doing a boneless
one on the famous "Flummi-Banks."
We also have excellent (skate)
punk-bands, "Straight Jackets" and
"Sons on Sadism" to name the best.
Keep up the great work, skaters
need mags like yours.

Could you please put this picture
in your mag somewhere within the
next few months. Jack Wright,

FLAGSTAFF, AZ
My name is Mark Beasley. These
photos are from a place called the
Slant, at Northern Arizona Univer-
sity, in Flagstaff. Our skate scene is
pretty cool up here. We have about
3 ramps we also have some ditches
and Slants. Me and my friend Greg
Bartlett used to have a ramp at his
house last summer, but had to tear
it down. Now there's a new ramp
down the street so we skate that
and this ditch alot. We think your
mag is rad. Keep it cool. Later!!
