Why don't you take on some responsibility
like the rest of us? I think your attitude
sucks. You get out of high school and all
you want to do is get yourself a sponsor
and skate your life away
If you go to college you better go to
learn, not to meet girls and hit all the par-
ties and drink Miller beer like all the other
trendy preppies.
Now to Pud Harder; don't listen to punk
rock if you don't like it. But the next time
you thank god for skate boards stop to
think if it weren't for punks, skatin' would
have died completely, so no equipment
would be available and you would still think
Ozzy ruled.

life' question. What can I say but, there

I am 13% years old and I like to street
skate, I am not so hot at ramp riding. When
I skate around town and stuff, all the older
skaters and skatepunks make fun, and call
me and my buds 'valleys."
It is really discouraging when this hap-
pens. I can't yell an obscene remark be-
cause they'll probably beat the crap outta
me. What should I do? Well gotta go skate!

with this action. Who do these guys

HEAVY DUTY
Hi! I'm a skater from Peoria, II. I got 2
questions for you.
1)My board (11 x32") weighs a ton and
we're building a halfpipe this summer. (It's
% built now). I need some light trucks! I
was thinking about magnesium, but I
heard you have to repaint 'em if they get a
knick or grind in them. What do you
recommend?

Alright, here's a good one. What I
don't understand is why. (If you know
your board is too heavy) are you trying
to eliminate the problem by switching
trucks? Go to the root of the problem
that is. Trash the board and get some
real trucks. I mean if you have to worry
about grinding on your trucks, where
are ya?
As for the second question, I like that
too. Who knows, maybe I did. Seriously.
nice try, but you don't get a piece of the
Blackhart estate that easily. Try again.
PASSING WIND
The other day my father told me of an
idea he had to put a mast and sail on a
skateboard making it a sail-board. I told
him it's been done before but I'm not sure.
Question: Is there such a thing, as a sail-
board? Was it ever popular or a feasible
idea? If there is such a thing is there a
company that has blueprints for such a
board? I would appreciate any information
you could give me. Your column's great
and south Florida skaters grind!

Well I'll tell ya. It was done. Probably
no less than oh... twenty-five years ago
or more, and I'm sure somebody, some-
where, has done it or attempted it at
least once a year since.
It has never been a giant hit although
with some of the new hardware avail-
able in windsurfing (you know, a sail on
a surfboard) there has been some re-
newed interest in sail-skating. Check
"Somethin' else," April '84, Vol. 4 #4.
Your best bet is to stick with your stick.
