NEW MEXICO
These days most skaters are more than
willing to share their various secret spots
Ewith any and all comers. Occasionally
E though, we receive a letter or photo that's
only a hint at the whereabouts of a rad
location. Here's a photo that was sent in a
while back. Along with the color snapshot
was a brief note that simply said: "Enclosed
is a picture of me at a local hot spot, The
Charlie Pacheco
Pipe. Keep up the good work."

This is a letter from some boys you've
already heard of. The funkin' Skate Dogs
In East Coast Locals (ECL) a loosely knit
organization of "skaters from hell." We
started three years ago with seven and
have grown to 15. Not all of us skate but
more are starting. With partners in crime
like us, the new dogs have to start soon. I
know I learned quick. The controlled
aggression scene has slowed down 'cause
of destroyed equipment from trucks to our
halfpipe, which was torched. We spend our
time scrogging (sex), drinking and dipping
Skoal. We all have drinking problems but
"it's good though" (a popular ECL phrase).
Here's a shot of me doing a "death air off
an ECL mobile. One ECL Dog just moved
back to Norway. Good luck to Geir. Print
this letter or not, just remember that killer
skate-dogs are here in Ct.

They can take away your freedom, your
teenage life, keep you in, give you the
mega-restrictions, how will we learn to
make choices when the parents always
choose for us? They say you're too old to
ride a skateboard but hey, skating isn't just
a sport, it's a way of life. The music the
ramps, the pools, the girls, the grinds-and
the high airs are at part of the attitude, an
altitude even the strictest-parents can't
take away Parents can set rules but I bet
they can't keep me from skating

My name is David Westmoreland. I
recently held a photo session at a place I
call "the Ditch." It is located in Camarrillo,
California, it's under the 101 freeway on
Dawson drive. A lot of people call it "Lefts
and Rights." It's really small, about 4-5
foot, but it's fun. A lot of people skate there,
because there aren't any more skateparks
around here since they fore down the
Endless Wave. My friend Vinnie was
recently in your mag. He wrote about Todd
and Robin's ramp. I met Robin, Brett and
Todd at the ditch and they wanted to build
a ramp so we all tried our dwn ways and
finally got it built. I haven't been there in
about four months because of lack of
transportation. I'm glad there's you guys
for learning about the new tricks that come
out. I think your mag gets some rad photos
in it. I had Hueneme and Anacapa Surf and
Sport tell me to write you guys and send
you this picture. They said they never had.
