everything in sight.
On the agenda for tonight is to go to the
Buffalo Road House to see some bands
and to celebrate New Year's Eve and the
contest.
Around 8:00 p.m. almost everyone
shows at my house to terrorize before the
show. We finally arrive at the Road House
in a large caravan with an abundance of
energy.
After a while some lame band plays, little
excitement takes place, until a skater band
by the name of 'Beyond Therapy' starts to
play some super fast tunes. Thrashing is
taking place all over and skaters are
dominating tonight. The management
starts to complain and pulls the band after
only five songs due to a rowdy crowd. This
makes the skaters more rowdy since most
are over-intoxicated and mad about losing
out on 'Beyond Therapy.' When the next
band plays all go crazy. Gibson does some
small stage dives, tables get knocked over,
mass slam piles, Johnson knocks over the
drums, and a monitor is broken. The band's
drummer gets pissed and runs off and the
rest of the band has to look for him. For the
next 10 minutes the manager preaches to
us on how good we should be and not slam
around. The drummer comes back and
tries to pick some fight with some of us,
while he preaches no violence. Finally they
play some more and more slamming takes
place so they won't play anymore. Aw
shucks! They sucked anyway. On the way
out Roskopp throws beer on the doorman
and Gator gets in a 10-minute verbal fight
with him. The doorman is angry, but what
can he do with 50 skaters around any-
ways?
Back to my house and all I can say is
HELP! Everyone is full of energy and yel-
ling up a storm till 3:00 a.m.
Sunday morning we wake to a warm Flo-
rida-like day, why not? The contest is over.
A large 30-person Bro bowl session takes
place. There are at least five in the bowl at
a time which means total chaos and there
are many good collisions. On to the ramp
for a large casual session. After awhile the
TV news shows up. Now everyone wants to
skate and get some coverage, especially
McGill, who keeps on flashing his movie.
star smile. The news films for three hours
and when the afternoon session is over all
decide to graffiti and sign TK's Thrasher
van before leaving.
Then another Bro bowl session into the
dark with the Texans, Roskopp, Tim
Scroggs, Marty Jimenez and more. Now
most of them leave homeward and I leave
you in peace.
