becoming well noticed and highly

pace for a second, with urgent over-
whelming glass smashing shrills of

Where hardcore meets metal and
goes insane. Hanging from their feet,
upside down in unescapable predica-
ment, Suicidal Tendencies cyclones
an invincible chaotic barrage of sali-
vating breakneck speed shrilling with
schizoid kerrangs of echoing guitar
power and piledriving, untamed vocal
ferociousness. Wild and crazed, the
tempo rages rapid overloads of
mayhemic devastation, and invasion

Suicidal Tendencies
of butchering insanity which suddenly
whines into a nailing slow assault of
rocky sledge hammering strength.
Opening with "Suicide's an Alterna-
tive/You'll Be Sorry," this hard hitting
attack of raw vitality begins. Crooning
Mike Muirs crying voice and frenzied
lyrics erupts into a slur of speed, de-
tonating a whirlpool of extreme energy
which sometimes settles down into a
hypnotic moaning of savage euphor-
ia. Bolling numbers "Possessed,"
"Two Sided-Politics" and "Subliminal
stampede a clawing colossal turbu-
lence, featuring skullcrushing drums
and wailing guitars pierce the cranium
in metal screaming exertion. Cult
favorites, "I Saw Your Mommy..." and
"Institutionalized" show why Suicidal
Tendencies have such an extreme
following. Produced by Glen E. Fried-
man. $6.00 from Frontier, P.O. Box

nipeg, Canada, this agile bunch
stands bold as they thrust six battering
ram doses of rambunctious havoc,
that flies off the vinyl in complete lung-
ing vigor as they ask the question
Who's In Charge. Fronted by the rau-
cous vocalist, Dik, who flails out some
harsh gut crunching crowls which are
backed by mean guitar whines and
wild abrasive bass rivets. The Stretch
Marks kick out bulldozing cuts like
"Barren Cities," "Dogs World," and
"Sik Pleasure." Absolutely fierce and
demanding, the onslaught force of this
LP is of a unique velocity, boisterous

SKATE
ROCK
From various pinpoints in the Bay
Area comes the mind-grinding sounds
of "Code of Honor Fronting the
Honor Boys is Johnithin Christ, a poig-
nant young man whose voice purges
forth in a shattering, chilling panic and
desperation
Bursting grindings of screeching
anxiety blast from the guitar of Mike
Fox. The man behind the Six String
mauls his licks to bending horizons of
madness and treachery Fast paced
and an extremely audible sound
On the drums and on the bass are
Sal and Dave. Sal beats those skins in
feverish staccato, pounding out the
bottom end and creating a fine foun-
dation of this power rocking band. Mr.
Dave Chavez, on the other hand, sim-
ply slashes about wildly while plucking,
his four string. A good example
shown on this page, as Dave és
wildly through the Sweat-thick air in-
side San Francisco's own On Broad
way nightclub. This tirantous combi-
nation binds the tightness and
energetic sound of CODE OF
HONOR
As for the skateboarding aspect of
this band, it only occupies 2:3 of their
thoughts
For example Johnithin has been
sighted several times in the San Fran
cisco Mission District skating down
the street toting groceries as well as
zipping around several other city
street spots including riding The Dish
in the Hunter's Point ghetto.
Dave Chavez sessions Joe Lopes
ramp regularly and has been a vertical
terrorizer for a good many years.
On the cover of COH's album and
single are strong photos, leaning
heavily towards skateboard tenden-
cies. They travel periodically and
have covered most of the states. This
band is bound, as their name implies,
and, they are definitely hot.
