MORE TAILS FROM CAPITOLA
I'm pissed. First off, I forgot to take a
camera with me to the Capitola Classic.
(Nobody but myself to blame for that.)
For the past two months I've been tryin
to describe to people what those guys from
Washington looked like in their "ducktail
speed suits. (They blew me away!)
Here I am, all hunched over, one foot in
front of the other (I can't do this at all), one
arm back and with the other arm I'm tryin'
to illustrate the flow of air over my body.
"Yeah, and then they had this wedge of
foam or sumthin' mounted on their
ass-kinda like a slice o' Duncan Hines
cake... By this time the party I'm addres-
sing looks thoroughly confused and I'm
about ready to topple over. I straighten up
and say, "When I get my new issue of
THRASHER, I'll show ya what they looked
Now I get my November edition of
THRASHER and there isn't a single clear
shot of those guys (in my opinion).
Somebody musta got a nice profile of one
blasting down the hill, right? C'mon! My
credibility is at stake here.
This is like the letters page in PLAYBOY
where the guys write in and beg for just one
last shot of the previous issue's center-
fold-how about it, ed? Show us a little
more tail!
I suspect some of your other readers
who weren't in attendance that day might
be curious too since you mentioned them
(the tails) no less than three times in your
report and the tail bearing/fairing suited
riders placed third, fourth and eighth,
respectively.
