AN ODE TO MIKE CHANTRY
To all you non-believers, the snapshot of
Craig Ramsay grinding the "Bridge of
Death" at Mile High Ramp. I was there, and
saw him make it numerous times. Kiwi was
also blowing minds doing handplants.
tailslides, layback rollouts, etc...so were
Caballero, D.P., Katen, Corey O'Brien,
and Tom Nicademo shredding the place.
Thanks go to Mike Chantry's time, place
and money for building such an excellent
skate structure, some of the world's most
heated sessions occur there daily. Mike is
the most hospitable person I've ever
known, and he is certainly a credit to the
skating world.
Mike Chantry deserves the recognition
due him, so please print this letter to let all
skaters know he's such a great person to
everybody, not just to skaters.
GIVES GOOD CONTEST

Jeff Newton (Newtron) pulled off another
beauty of a contest in Houston this past
weekend. Freestyle, downhill, slalom, and
banks. Everyone fully blazed and much fun
was to be had. Whether watching the likes
of Dean Lanningham and John Gibson or
Tommy Hormel and Andy Lopez rip or
having a cardiac arrest over the sweeties.
It was obvious he made sure everyone
walked away smiling.
Down here in Corpus, we only have one
ramp, but it's sure to give contest to any
other ramp in Texas. Its vitals are: 14 ft.
flat, 16 ft. wide, and 1 ft. of vert with metal
coping and platforms, fully shreddable.
There're not many skaters, but the ones
that skate at Cecil's are bio beyond belief.
When you're in town, feel free to call. I'm
listed and can accompany traveling
skaters with a roof to sleep under.

HAMPERED IN HAMBURG
I am a real skater since 1980. Here in
Hamburg, the scene is pretty lame. The
most energy is (as you probably know) in
and around Münster. We wanna build a
Muckus
halfpipe but it's very hard to get a piece of
land. North of Hamburg is an over vertical,
concrete halfpipe with a capsule on one
side. So we mostly shred the streets.
