NEW JERSEY
After the closing of Cherry Hill (last
spring), it's been back to the streets for
many, and the fortunate skaters already
had ramps.
1, being lucky, already had a little ramp
on which some friends and I do demos
(fairs, malls, etc.). After a while I got sick of
skating these "little walls." I wanted a larger
ramp, so with money from my bank, I
purchased a rad ramp halfpipe at a very
cheap price from a closed skatepark. It
took a while to set up but now I skate it
every day. It is by far the best ramp I've
skated and a lot of other people agree.
If you're ever in New Jersey, stop by and
skate, all are welcome.
Here are some pictures of me. It would
be insane if you printed them.
Keep thrashing.

Tom Groholski knew what he was doing when
he bought his red ramp. He obviously knows
what he's doing while skating it.

MIDWEST SKATE REPORT
Right now, there seems to be two
centers of energy in the Northwest
Ohio/Southeast Michigan skate scene,
those being Endless Summer Skatepark
(313) 294-7170, and a 16' halfpipe owned
by Steve Budd in Toledo. Endless Summer
features a huge righthand kidney with a
totally shreddable shallow end plus the
owners recently purchased the 8' demo
halfpipe that Apple Skatepark used to own
and they've made that a permanent
addition. It has been skated all summer so
it's really thrashed, but about three weeks
ago it was being totally ripped.
Budd's ramp, which is located in Toledo,
was built in mid-June and has been heavily
skated almost every day since, by the
Maumee and Toledo locals as well as
some E.S. boys. It's your basic 16' wide
halfpipe with plenty of flat, full decks,
coping, and a 10' high extension to get lots
probably the best ramp in the Midwest
of speed to crank airs off the 8% side. It's
along with the Cherry Lane Ramp..
The only thing bad about this summer
though was that everybody was fiyped for
a contest, but it just didn't happen; next
year there should be a couple though.
For the record here's pretty much a list of
the skaters that usually skate either E.S.or
Budd's: Bill Fergueson, Chris Moore, Bill
Danforth, Todd (me), Ward Cramer, John
Everett, Joe Juliana, Shawn Snow, Bud
Burkhart, Jim Chitwood, Brian Mank, and
Steve Budd, to name a few (actually that's
everybody). Also, the Detroit/Toledo/
Maumee area boasts what is probably the
country's best up and coming hardcore
scene. Bands like Necros, Negative
Approach, Meatmen, Fate Unknown, The
Allied, Tolchock, L Seven, Violent Apathy.
There are also a couple of great skate.
zines put out around here.
Anybody who wants to come out here
and check out the skate scene or the music
scene just write or call.
