We being the local boyz of Nor-Cal (Palo
Alto, home of the famous Toy World
legendary regional skate pioneer Del*13)
would like to drop you this status report: All
is not quiet on the western front. There are
several shreddable ramps in Palo Alto and
neighboring towns (some non-rideable,
due to parent, noise, and law official
factors). The Kitty pool is still the local
shred spot for us. Although recently it has
been victimized by local new rags because
of the dead katss and kat krap causing a
"health hazard" and neighbors complained
that "the empty swimming pool in the
backyard has and is currently being used
as a recreation center for skateboards."
The cops just tell you not to "play here."
The Mudpit is now a bust because of some
prep geeks from the rival high school
throwing empties onto adjacent property
where a once-cool old lady lives. Now the
cops are out in full force. Both Del and us
have had encounters with the guys and
they are uncool. Defending "their"(?) spot
with Louisville Sluggers and mini-boulders.
Sometimes we thrash the brick banks at
time zone, the bank at the infamous frog
pond, and night sessions at Syntex,
downhill runs at 40+ are not uncommon.
One of our semi-cool spots bit the dust.
The now defunct Nixon school banks were
fun to say the least. If we're not terrorizing
the local malls, shopping centers, pools,
ramps, or the rad banked carpet displays
at Sears, we shred JP's radical but small 4
pipe on the shuffle board court at his
humble abode. The only problem is that
Arko, the flyrag pup likes to honor the ramp
with small brown gifts. Our plight was
temporarily resolved after JP's mom
invested in a poop-scoop but JP mysteri-
ously (and accidently?) lost it over the
fence. Anyways, JP and I shred bogus
pogus rock 'n' rolls, Tracker Crackers,
fakie airs and a variety of other original
clone moves. Fortunately we have avoided
heavy sprawls which usually result in
percussive skull bongos, although all who
have skated this insane structure have
mysteriously been catapulted over his
fence into painful bushes loaded with
stickers which leads to long agonizing
sticker removing sessions. Ow! Fotos on
the way, just as soon as Snap-E-Foto
finishes the processing. Keep up the rad
