LAST SESSION...
Skating is still alive since Apple
Skatepark has been closed. We've been
skating on about 3 different halfpipes this
past summer. The ramp locals have also
been terrorizing the streets and alleys in
Dayton. The main ramp that we skate is
16 ft. wide, 8 ft. high, with pool coping.
The ramp totally blazes. We have some
big plans for next spring. We are planning
a half capsule with a drop-in channel.
We've been skating to the Toxic Reasons,
Minor Threat, Delinquents, D.O.A.,
Necros and other hardcore West Coast
punk bands. The pictures are from our
last session before winter. The session.
got totally intense since everybody was
there and going for it. There was a lot of
rad modern moves, but most of the
energy was pointed towards the style.
The main locals include: Mike Hill, Brett
Martin, Kevin Dickman, Tom Leonard,
Dan Raridan and Kirk Watts.
We think that the Pro's should tour
ramps and backyard pools instead of
parks, since most of them are, unfor-
tunately, closing. If anyone is in the
Dayton area look us up for a Rad Ses-
sion.
Keep Skating,
Mike Hill & Brett Martin

PEPSI CHALLENGE...
I'd like to thank you and your staff at
Thrasher for reaffirming skateboarding's
true identity and continuing to bring the
circle of skaters, worldwide, a lot closer
after so many others have copped out. To
you belongs a lot more than this letter can
offer.
Personally, I've been skating now for
'bout six years, and like most Pro's, never
really made enough to live on. I skated for
the now defunct Pepsi Skate Program out
of Pepsico, Purcase, N.Y., and like my
former teammates, never made the pages
of the "other" mag. Terrorizing the whole
of the Mother country was enough. We
could never be Pepsi's vision of the All-
American kid and because of our
outrageous activities were subsequently
hired, fired, rehired and refired. More
often than not I was on their #% list.
They still talk about the St. Louis nitrous
oxide parties.
To Ray Alsbury, Lenny Riordan, Bob
Unzicker, John Carey, Billy Hobbs, Scott
Truden, Paul Willit, Mark Whedes, Ken
Bonfietti, and yes even you Joe Rice, I
say "it was a good one.... but didn't we
make a mess."
Thanks,
Alan Sidlo
