ENGLAND...
The enclosed photos are of me,
Douglas Cameron, and some of the other
locals skating at Andover Skatepark, a
converted municipal swimming pool now
belonging to Hampshire Skateboard Club
(of which I am one of thirty or so
members) and run by Mrs. Joan Inchley,
chairperson of the English Skateboard
Association. The park is completely
constructed by the members and sports a
banked reservoir with coping, a large pool
with deep and shallow ends and a half-
pipe awaiting a new skin of wood.
Skaters (locals) travel, as I do, from
about a sixty mile radius for daily
sessioning and complete camping
facilities are available for those traveling
from further afield, i.e., Scotland, Belgium.
I am, at present, competing in the E.S.A.
series, similar to the Gold Cup Series in
format. That is to say that you compete
throughout England at various skateparks
every two or three weeks covering about
8 or 9 parks in all. Points are gained at
each event which go to an overall total,
the winner was announced at a banquet
held in September.
Some of my fellow skaters went over to
the U.S. and competed in the Colton
ASPO and I hope to be over with them
sometime soon. They would like to thank
Tony and Mr. & Mrs. Hawk, the Hoffmans
and the Losi's for the much appreciated
hospitality.
Yours Truly,

WEST GERMANY...
We have just removed the plywood from our half-pipe because the weather would
destroy it in winter. Therefore I don't have any pictures where the stickers are to be seen.
Nevertheless, I enclosed 4 of my best black & whites. I hope you can use them. As soon
as the weather becomes warmer you will get some better photos.
Right now we are into slalom, freestyle and street-skating.
Next summer we will visit the UK.

MARYLAND...
Reading "Mail Drop" in your first 52-
page issue made me realize that the East
Coast Toke Team really exists. For
example, one of us moved from Ocean
City to Atlanta, Georgia, last year and has
been skating the best 32" foot halfpipe on
the East Coast, the same ramp that Mike
Harrington's boss mentions in Atlanta.
And about this letter that Tony Albano
wrote from Riverdale, "With our good luck
we also have Croften Skatepark," but we
skate it heavily. The deep capsule pool is
the only capsule pool left on the East
Coast and only the Toke Team can skate
it! Everyone thinks it's too rad with its 3%"

the more vert the more "BIO"! Ocean City,
Maryland, is a skate haven for in the
summer when about 5 out of our 11 team
members move down every summer and
skate with our pads off. When we move
back down we bring skating back to life
again in town. All winter the remaining 3
skate enthusiasts wait for our arrival. The
only reason skaters can skate the old
Rolling Surf Skateboard Park for free is
because when we moved down there last
summer we pushed all the fiberglass
pieces to form our own ramp and
skatepark featuring a 16' halfpipe, 5
halfpipe, and a giant bankrun. You want
action, you got it! I'll tell you where skating
is at. It's all the diehards on the East
Coast Toke Team that will just never quit!
You'll be hearing from us!
