D.B.: Where are you skating?
M.S.: Backyard pools, streets, halfpipe at
Denise's.
D.B.: I'm Denise.
M.S.: ummhmm....
D.B.: I remember when you thought we
were lame for dying our hair-that was a
long time ago but it's been a long time
since you first started alternating your
appearance daily. Comment Smith.
M.S.: Yes, that's right-no one notices I'm
best.
D.B.: Well, at least it saves your
autograph arm for inverts.
M.S.: Yes.
D.B.: Where's skateboarding?
M.S.: Growing again.
D.B.: What about politics, the economy,
problems, music-anything to say?
M.S.: Yes, I want everyone to build ramps
and invite me over.
D.B.: Are those your closing comments-
M.S.: No these are. Skateboarding is a
positively clean sport and can be enjoyed
by all ages. Don't abuse this. Skate pools
with knee pads and gloves and take good
care of your skateboard equipment. Hose
your bearings off monthly, wash your
wheels off in the washer before you sell
them, paint your trucks before you sell
them, and get a Mike Smith Concave
Board every month, and promote the
name MIKE SMITH, and everything will
be cool with me and YOU.
