CURT PERNICE HAS A REALLY NICE SKATEPARK.
Located smack dab in the middle of nowhere (near Modesto),
Curt's hometown of Ripon now boasts possibly the biggest
park in California. This 30,000 square-foot oasis leaves little to
be desired. Tons of hips, a nice big vert wall with a channel, and
lines galore. How this guy scraped together the cash (400k+) and talent to
produce something of this caliber while cities like Huntington Beach can
only put together fenced-in curb cuts is a mystery, but we're sure not
complaining. Curt's park didn't require pads on opening day, but chances are
at least helmets will be mandatory. Do yourself a favor and bring those
nasty pads or you might end up ass out. A street course and multi-level
pool are also in the works. Way to go, Curt.

HOW TO GET TO an
CURT'S PARK
South of Sacramento,
Ripon is right near
Modesto. Take Hwy 99,
exit Jackson Road and
head West. Turn left on
Main, left on Wilma,
then left on Hughes.
Can't miss it from there.
Big vert walls, endless lines, silky-smooth coping, hips, hips, and more hips. Ripon rules and the street course isn't even built yet.
Richard Paez, curl-shot f/s 50-50, droppin' channels without getting swallowed.
Well, if you're lookin' for trouble, he's the man to see. Brian Ferdinand is a real live wire.
