I've been reading your magazine for a
while now, as it is a wonderful source.
for the latest and coolest skate news.
I'm usually pretty open-minded when
reading the mag, but I finally became
offended by the picture of Elissa
Steamer on P. 87 of your January 2001
issue. The picture is of her holding à
beer can and getting ready to smoke a
cigarette. Does she or anyone else view-
ing the picture realize her ignorant
decisions? I severely doubt alcohol will
help anyone's skating ability, and
smoking is just as bad; if not worse.
Surely skaters know that smoking
hurts your lungs and can damage your
mouth. Since skating relies on physical
health, why harm yourself, look stupid,
and waste money, which will just hin-
der your skating experience? I just
wanted to let the readers of Thrasher
know how feel. I hope everyone-
including myself has a great skating
experience.

This is a message to Myles Summers
(Feb'01 issue): fuck you! nobody gives
a fuck if you're a 12-year-old Christian.
Christians like you piss me off. I don't
know what Gina Garcia said, but what
you said really pissed me off. Just let me
tell you this, you ignorant fuck!
Christians, in general, think that theirs
is the superior religion, and that their
beliefs are the only and correct beliefs,
and that if you don't agree you'll go to
hell. Well, then do you think that the
billions of other people in the world
with different religious beliefs are
going to hell? That's bullshit if you ask
me. Christian, Buddhist, Atheist... who
gives a fuck? As long as you're a good
person throughout your life-no mat-
ter what religion you are-you should
be able to go to "Heaven", if there is
such a thing. And if not, then your
"God" is a real asshole. Also, according
to Christians, being gay is wrong. I'm
not gay but to persecute another
human because of their sexuality is
exactly like being a racist. I also noticed
that you called Gina a "goth fag". So?
What's wrong with being a faggot you
homophobic piece of shit? Because of
Christians like you, many people have
been persecuted and died. Religion in
general is pretty stupid. There should-
n't be just one principal for everyone.
Everyone should be able to find their
own spiritual comfort in their own
way. Think about it: If there were no
religions on Earth, there would be a lot
less hate. For example: Jews and
Christians in the Middle East... need
another? Hindus and Muslims in
South Asia. You're probably thinking
that I'm full of shit and that your
Christian beliefs are right; well, that's
because you've been raised to think
that and have been brought to church
your whole life. Before you start to
think that this is Bullshit, think again.
Skating is about individuality and
being yourself. Prejudiced shitheads
like you shouldn't be involved.
