YOU EVER SEE
younger kids skating
who remind you of yourself at
that age?
All the time, but now kids get
caught up in so much stuff at a
young age, like parties and other
things. They could fall off before
they come up.
Was it ever difficult to shed the little
kid image that people had of you?
Not really, because I was changing
so much back then.
Do you ever feel pressure to outdo
what you've done in past videos or
to compete with the things other
skaters are doing?
Yes. Often I don't want to film
stuff that I feel I handled already,
but sometimes people want to see
you skate and also compete with
the top dogs.
What is the most unpleasant part of biggest strength?
being a pro skater?
Fallin' off.
What was the last contest you
entered? What would the condi-
tions have to be like for you to want
to enter contests again?
I don't enter contests, but I was
going to start. We have the Girl park
now, so I'll be getting my ramp stuff
on point and hopefully you'll see me
in one soon.
What new skaters do you like?
Arto Saari.
Who's your favorite vert skater?
Bob Burnquist.
If you could go back to any one time
of your life, would you, and when
would it be?
I would be me and go back to
change what I messed up.
What do you consider to be your
"I DON'T WANT
TO FILM STUFF
THAT I FEEL I
HANDLED
ALREADY"
Not being too judgmental
toward myself.
What is your biggest weakness?
Givin' up.
What's your opinion on drugs
and alcohol?
Fun, but not cool.
What is skateboarding lacking
these days?
Nothing. It's coming up. There's
more money, TV, and skateparks.
What is your favorite thing to do
besides skating?
Golfing with the boys.
Describe a great day skating-who
and where.
When all my friends and I get
some video clips that I want other
people to see, to know how nice the
-Jake Phelps
shit was.
Kickflip.
