HERE ARE YOU FROM?
Arataju, Brazil.
How old are you?
Twenty-two.
Who are your sponsors?
New Deal, Etnies, Split, Connection
wheels, Crail, Janskate, and SSS.
How long have you been skating?
Nine years.
What was your favorite part of the New
Deal trip?
Just being with all the New Deal guys.
Everyone was really stoked. Funny guys.
What was the funniest thing you saw?
Seeing Chad Bartie in Boulder, drunk,
throwing beer on Biebel's white sweatshirt.
What did you think about all those pools
we went to in Fresno?
I loved it even though I couldn't skate
them. I'm working on it, so next time I'll be
able to skate. I'd like to be able to skate more
pools while I'm in California.
What does it feel like not to be able to
speak to anyone?
It was really bad. I wanted to say so many
things, but I just had to keep my mouth shut
because I don't know the words. It's OK,
though. The guys tried to teach me some.
What's the biggest difference between
being sponsored in the US and being
sponsored in Brazil?
Here, the sponsors take care of everything
and make it so you can just skate. In Brazil
Left to right: How do you say beveled edge
in Portuguese? Breezy speaks the international
language of Smith on a hard-to-lock Hubba.
Backside noseblunted.
