SKATEBOARDING
Enough for the history lesson; on to the skate scene. In
Pasadena and the surrounding urban landscape which the
Pasadena skaters utilize, there are a lot of little skate crews.
The clique that scampers the streets of Pasadena calls them-
selves SAC (Skate All Cities... when you're not drunk).
These guys really like skating handrails, so there may be
other origins to their club's name. Some of the members
include Frankie Vasquez AKA "The Bum"; the brothers
Martinez, Abijah and Gabriel; Randy Chew up his foot;
funny-ass goofball Jon Gratigny; and a bunch of other fools
with "SAC" tattooed on them who quit skating. Other
skaters living in the area who have been known to be affili-
ated with SAC are Da Man Damon Morris; the underrated
pimp Patrick Tucker, AKA TUX; Bills (to pay); Daniel
Shimizu and crew; Gino Perez; Ben Schroeder and family;
Sean Woolfolk; and countless others.
SAC is fun to hang out with, and they of course experience
the typical funny situations that all street skaters do. Once
there was a crew of about 11 of us skating the famous white

and TUX. I was sitting across the street shooting photos and
by the way these weirdos were acting, I thought we were get-
ting the boot. I was confused because this karate kid was
pacin' around like he was gonna get buck wild at any second,
