dopest slam ever captured on video." The Pope never took his big head-
phones off, and his voice was always a few decibels too loud.
"Yes, we will sell it to the real-life accident shows on the Fox TV,"
Frenchie said, in his funny accent. He grew up in Paris and had
a pointy face like a mouse. All the other kids gathered around
the TV like vultures.
It took a few seconds for Chuck to realize what they were
watching and to remember that the Pope had been filming
when The Accident happened. He saw himself on the
screen, pushing as fast as he could towards the 15-stair
courthouse handrail. He watched himself, in slow motion,
pop up on the rail and 50-50 halfway down. As he watched,
he hobbled on his crutches from behind the counter-
towards the TV. On the screen he was coming to the end of
the rail. The sidewalk below the rail wasn't very wide, and
he remembered the horrible feeling of catapulting towards
the busy street. He saw the white minivan in the upper left
corner of the screen, heading right towards him.
"Here it comes, yo!" the Pope yelled. He jumped up and down
and made dope hand gestures, like a rap star. All the other kids stood
with their mouths open in awe, theirs eyes transfixed on the screen.

in front of the speeding minivan"
