whole new experience in nose and tail slides as it
smoothly glides over rough surfaces.

TOP DRAWER
Your May issue sets the ollie
record at 44 1/2 inches. Why you
gotta lie? A page from the August or
September '93 issue sez Alan
Petersen set the flatground record
at four feet one inch (49 inches).
That's four and a half
inches more than the
new one. (I can do
math!) Give Alan his
due respect as the
ollie king. You better
print this and let
people know.

BEST FLIP
In the April 2000 issue, Andrew
Reynolds was given the 1999 T-
Eddy award for frontside flip.
Everyone (which should include
you) knows that Tom Penny can
frontside flip better than anyone.
But yeah, you would give the award
to the more popular (previous
Skater of the Year) person. This
makes me sick.

I've been skating since 1977
except for the last eight years, and
the only reason for that is I've
been locked up. I caught a 15-year

going on nine. I saw the Parole
Board once, and they flopped me
but I see them again next year. I'm
doing time on a manslaughter beef
because a freak sexually assaulted
my girlfriend and when I con-
fronted him about it, we got in a
fight. He died. Anyway, the reason

I'm writing is I
have an August
'99 issue of
Thrasher and I'm
amazed at how
far the sport's
advanced. It
kind of pisses
me off because I
feel I'll never catch up now. My
artwork has advanced quite a bit; I
was always known for it in the '80s
doing flyers for punk rock shows,
and I was in an obscure Eugene,
Oregon, band called Zombie
Toolshed, named after a story in a
horror comic book. Eugene had a
great punk rock and skater scene,
but most of my friends have
moved to SF or Seattle. Some of
them got sponsored a long time
ago. I heard through the grapevine
that Chris "Creature" Myers flew
for Santa Monica Airlines, and
Shawn Martin had his own board
out, I was supposed to do a
