INDIANA

'M NOT GOING TO LIE. INDIANA IS
nowhere near the top of the list of places to
skateboard. In a place damned by location
and geography and cursed by weather, it's a
wonder skateboarding even exists. It's proba-
bly not quite as bad as I've made it out to be.
There are definitely worse places, and I can
say that I've been to a few.
Skateboarding isn't new to Indiana. Just like
any other place, the roots of skateboarding run
deep. Anyone who's been around can rattle
off stories about local legends who once
ripped, heated sessions that took place, and
ramps or skateparks that once stood. I will
spare you the details.

Indiana's largest urban center: Indianapolis.
This photo was accidentally sent to the wrong
magazine; it was supposed to run in Thresher.
You can never have enough photos of dudes...
flippin' over bars. JJ Mace rides a
frontside flip over the IUPUI rail.
