I'll start this off by saying the same
thing everyone else says when they
write you a letter: your magazine is
mad cool. But on to a more specific
subject: what is the deal with people
and their remarks about the "disap-
pearance" of Tom Penny? He's awe-
some and a true skater; he always was
and he always will be. A few days ago
I was flipping through the pages of
some old skate mag and I came to an
article about the és tour to Australia.
about
tour to
It had a little profile on everyone
on the tour, and Tom Penny was
included. The dude who wrote
the article was saying he thinks
there will be a new Tom Penny
era and that a comeback is
coming. Either this dude
was completely wrong or
it just hasn't happened
yet. I'm just hoping that Tom
will get his ass back over here to the
States and pick up a skateboard and
have a good session with his old bros
and see what happens from there.

FROM SCRATCH
What is the most important thing in
your life right now? For me there are
three: writing, DJing, and of course
skating. Forget all that "skating is life"
crap. You are life, not skating, and what
you choose to do with
with it up to you.
quote Thrasher when I say, "Live to
skate; skate or die." This is the correct
saying, and I do live to
e to skate. I don't

know what would happen if I lost skat-
ing. I probably would become a junkie,
then bill
then kill myself. Essentially, if I didn't
have skating I probably would die.
Right now I'm trapped in this barren
prison of thought called school, where

them into their collapsing

believe in, whether it's skating or
picking your nose.

Every month there are at least four
letters in your magazine that basically
say, "Forget image, skate for fun."
Before I started reading your maga-
zine, I
I was a a loyal reader of a different
skate mag. You see,
e, one day in school,
I heard some beautiful girls telling
group of f kids, "I like
your shirt a

out with them and noticed they were
"skateboarders." Man, they were so
kewl! I got my dad to drive me down
to the local shop to buy me a skate-
board. I was a natural. Every month I
would see the new tricks and go learn
