            GRAND ISLAND
135 miles west of Omaha along 1-80, home of Todd
Coulliard and the only public indoor skate ramp in the state.
Grand Island fact: Grand Island is a major meatpacking city, and there
is a good possibility that the burgers you eat come from a Grand Island
packing plant.
NORTH PLATTE
The first city in NE to get a public skatepark. The park is
weak at best. It consists of portable ramps that were origi-
nally constructed for a local skate contest. The city paid to
upgrade the ramps and donated a section of concrete to
keep them on. North Platte is 300 miles west of Omaha
along the I-80.
North Platte fact: Bailey railroads yard, the largest railroad yard in the
world, is in North Platte. It is the size of 2800 football fields, a common
unit of measurement in NE.
Clockwise from above left:
Dave Nelson pilots a precision
nosegrind in Lincoln. Before
the cement had even cured,
Jeff Chase snatched a frontside
air over the onion. After
practicing in the garage all winter
with his Mom's Stairmaster
Nick Coulliard was ready to
throw himself over this handrail
in Lincoln. A chipped-up board
and a thrashed mini can't keep
Steve Walsh from getting tech.
