Close call at the Baldy Pipe Awful Truth
Rescuers took nearly an hour Sunday
evening to pull a skateboarder out of a pit in
a network of graffiti-splattered concrete
it south of the San Antonio Dam.
Witnesses
washes jus said Tim Felser, 19, of San
Antonio Heights was skating in the "Pipe," a
20-foot-high tunnel that runs under the dam,
at about 5:30 p.m. when he came to the
12-foot-wide pit. Felser was bouncing on a
plank bridging the gap when he slipped and
fell into the boulders, beer bottles and
spray-paint cans 15 feet below. He suffered
cuts to his head and back, paramedics said.
Felser was taken to Arrowhead
Regional Medical Center.
