Dearest Thrasher sailboating magazine,
I would like to thank you for my sub-
scription to your wonderful
magazine. It is so very grat-
ifying to me, after a long
day at the law firm, to be
able to sit down, relax,
and see the world, its
seven seas and oceans,
and all the beautiful nau-
tical explorations found in
them, all in the privacy of
my own home. The skate-
boarding articles are entertaining as
well. Skateboarding is such an exhila-
rating new sport to me. My son, Rupert,
who is 13 years old, likes to skateboard
in his free time after school. Rupert has
been getting me into skateboarding too.
So well, in fact, that he has finally per-
suaded me to dry out the swimming
pool
I in our backyard so we can skate-
board up, , down, and around in it. It's
become very fun for my son and me.
I've also got the guys from work in on
this! One evening, the guys at the office
had come over to my place for the
annual BBQ I have. After we ate, I
showed them what my son and I had
been doing in the pool. They were a bit
wary of it at first, but as soon as they saw
how much fun Rupert and I were having,
they caught on as well. Rupert says I am

I am writing in regards to the Bad Trip
letter from your August issue. T-ed, you
little buster, you wrote Chooie off like he
was a little punk. I've been in the clink
for four years now. Back when I skated,
it was about having fun for free. It was-
n't about p for a a place to skate, , it

was about rippin' up curbs and trashin'
benches. Now you have t

I haven't been out in a long time, but
Chooie's right; those parks suck and 65
percent of the people suck too. Man,
you need to plug in; this cat's right on,
and you're trying to hide the truth.
Skating has changed and so has your
buster-ass column, so give it up while
you still have some self-respect.

Your letters suck. It's all
a bunch of recycled crap
that gets sent in. Yeah,
skate scenes suck, vibes
between skaters and bladers
are always there, and the public
authorities are always trying to screw
things up. Who cares? Parents are
lame well, at least some parents are
and who cares if a girl wants to skate?
People who harass chicks suck. And
who cares what you wear
when you
skate, who's hardcore, who's burly, and
who sucks? Skating is skating. Live and
let die, go skate or don't. Life's too sh
o short;
you could die tomorrow and not have
anything to show for yourself! Long live
the real skaters who think about skating
24 hours a day when their bodies are
unable to o perform, and all the skaters
who skate because it comes from their
mind, body, soul, and heart. Nothing
can destroy that. We all live our own
separate lives, so forget the bull.
