TRAGIC: Kristina Jacobs died when her skateboard rolled in front of a car
LITTLE Kristina Jacobs was killed after
her skateboard rolled into the path of
a neighbour's car
She had been lying on the board
playing in her driveway when she shot
out in front of Bernadette Wetherill's
Mercedes as it took a left-hand bend.
Kristina, seven, was taken to
hospital after the accident on Monday
night. She died later of head injuries.
Mrs Wetherill, 40, of Crowborough
East Sussex, was shocked but not hurt.
Yesterday's friends and staff at White
hills infants school, where Kristina was
a pupil, were offered counselling to help
them come to terms with her death.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex
county council said: "The education
authority is shocked and saddened to

learn of the death of Kristina. Our
thoughts are with her family and her
friends at the school. The LEA is giv
ing appropriate support to the school."
A police spokeswoman said: "This
appears to be a tragic accident."
