that the monkey must
have taught Reynolds
something about his

the way Andrew

Yeah. All three of them.
Were they crying?
They just ran off.

What do you think is the McTwist of
street skating?
My frontside flip down those three stairs at
the video store. Equivalent to Steve Saiz's
first 540 in fuckin' Public Domain.
Is it true you stole Penny's kickflip
technique and forced him to seek
exile in Europe?
No comment. I didn't steal anything
from anybody.
What about his flick?
His fitck is the best flick. What's that word?
Ambidextrous.
If Muska is the Hosoi of the '90s, who
are you?
I'm Andrew Reynolds. That's it.
Who is most likely to put snacks on
the table?
Sumner. He'll have a big smile when you
get caught eating a bacon sandwich.
Each of you has to ask Andrew three
questions. Jim?
Jim Greco: I've asked him all the
questions in my life that I ever wanted.
How do you do a kickflip every try?
Years of practice.
MB: Did there come a day when all of a
sudden you're like, "I can't miss this! I
got it every try."
It's not like that. It doesn't work every try.
If you'd been at Vans today you'd know
the truth.
JG: Bullshit.
MB: What's up with your new shoe?
I don't know. It's coming.
What were your concerns when you were
putting the shoe together?
The main concern was making something
that when the kids look at it on the shelf,
they want to buy it. Also that it's good to
skate in and looks nice on my feet. I looked
at shoes that I like, and I took the features.
that I liked from those.
If you were going to a desert island and
you could only bring one skate video
and one CD, what would they be?
Best of Baker videos, and Ready to Die by
Biggie Smalls.
Brian Sumner: What's easier, a frontside
flip or an ollie?
Ollies are easier.
MB: How was the Skater Of The Year.
Awards
party?
It was cool.
Do you have any kinds of goals?
This is it. I've achieved my goal in
skateboarding. I just want to be able to
not work in my lifetime. I want my
skateboard to pay off.
JG: Buy his board and make him a
millionaire.
Buy Greco's board and make him a
millionaire.
MB: What do you still like about skating
that you liked when you were ten?
It's the same as it always has been. When
you're doing it for fun, you could have the
worst problem, but when you're skating you
don't worry about anything. It's the exact
same feeling now as when you were a kid.
It's there always.
Who are your sponsors these days?
Birdhouse, Emerica, Indy, and Four Star.
And Furnace Skate Shop. And Jan's, the
best sandwich shop in town.
What's like when it's just you and Tony
Hawk hanging out one on one?
It's cool. We're cool with each other. We
get along perfectly fine. We're both just
mellow. A lot of people have told me that
we're alike. Ali Cairns was telling me that
when they were hanging out he saw simi-
larities between us.
Who do you want to be Skater Of The
Year in 1999?
Ali Boulala.
Any last words?
This is a list of people who have con-
tributed to my skateboarding career. I
I want to thank all the OG Lakeland
skaters: Robby B, Clay, Victor, Wayne,
Brett, Artis, John, Parker, Matt, Darrin,
Brendan, and anyone else. I would also
like to give love to all my Warner crew:
Brian Sumner, Ali Cairns, Ali Boulala, Jim
G, Dustin Dollin, Elissa, Erik, Jay, Shane,
Scott, Baines, Mouly, Pearcy, and Oren.
I also want to thank Tony Hawk, Per
Welinder, Jay Strickland, Joey Tershay.
Atiba, Mike Burnett, Don Brown, Charlie,
Frank, Justin, Rick Howard, Eric Koston,
Willy Santos, Steve Berra, Heath,
