Battery against
skater
Three unknown youths report-
edly hurled homophobic epithets
and a soft drink at a late-night
skater on Monday, Aug. 10 at
approximately 9:15 p.m.; the in-
cident was reported at 12:36 a.m.
on Tuesday, Aug. 11
The victim claimed that he was
rollerblading north on Sutter
Street when a car drove south on
Sutter and one of the occupants
yelled "fag" at him as it passed
by. The victim then turned
around, skated to Berryman, and
proceeded east on Berryman from
Henry, where he saw the same
car driving west
Berryman.
The driver allegedly turned off
the headlights and drove toward
the skater, while one of the occu-
fants shouted "fag" again and
ne of them hurled a filled paper
oda cup at him, striking him on
he shoulder. The car then drove
way. It was unclear if the sus-
ects actually believed the victim
as homosexual or were simply
being abusive.
The suspects are described as
three white male teenagers riding
in a dark blue 1980s model Ford
Escort with a roof rack. The vic-
tim was unable to provide a de-
tailed description of the suspects
or the license plate because it
was dark. The police have no leads
in the case
