time for a change
don't you think? The
times are a-changin'
time to open
those eyes as the
new millennium
approaches. We
need to elevate to a
new, higher consciousness.
Fuck those rules; we're skateboarders and artists.
We don't want anyone telling us what to do. That's the reason we
do this shit for the freedom, for the moment.
Bombing hills alone at three
in the morning in San Francisco
- that's the freedom of skateboarding, and if you're not in it for
that, then get the fuck out. For real.
My name is Brian Childers, and yes, it is time for a change.
Welcome to my interview, but this is for you. This is for everyone.
This is my chance to say something. If you read this and don't get
anything out of it, well, then I've failed. If you find something here to apply to your own
life, then this is a success. Some may love these words; others might hate them, but that is
completely irrelevant to my intention. There is no ego here. The following are pieces of an
exchange of words. They are the words of myself. I realize that I don't really know anything,
but I have a completely open mind and I feel this is the key to knowledge. Bob Marley said,
"My life is for other people. If I can't give to others then I don't want to live." I've learned that
the key to enhancing yourself is by giving to or enhancing others as a collective.
