A good kickflip photo has 3 mandatory
qualifications: height, rotation and launch
control. This double-set is in the bag.
So where'd you grow up?
San Antonio, Texas.
How'd you start skating?
I saw my older brother Jozul skating with
his friends, so I decided to give it a try. Shouts
out to Jozul.
How old were you?
I was nine and a half when I started skating.
How'd
you start learning?
I watched videos.
Which ones?
Curb Dogs, Animal Chin, a lot of Powell
videos, and then on to H-Street later on.
Did you make a conscious decision to
concentrate on skating, or did it just sort
of happen?
Well, I started out with a yellow plastic
board. I'd butt-board down the hills. Then I
switched to a Variflex board. I learned how to
stand and push. About six months later I got
my first pro board, which was a Kevin Harris.
After riding that board and watching videos.
all the time, that's about when I decided to
stick with skating.
