16 now; is it better to get sponsored
at a young age? Are the tricks that I
named good enough?

Your magazine rocks! I have been a fan
of skateboarding my whole life (17 years)
and have been reading your magazine
for the past five or six years. Every Hal-
loween I like to carve very creative
pumpkins. Each year I try and think of
an idea better than the
last. After coming to
the conclusion that
Thrasher is the best
skating magazine out
there, I decided to give
you guys props
through my art. The
my
results came out pret-
ty good, and I
received many com-
pliments on my pump-

This is in response to "Good
Luck", a mother who bought
Thrasher to encourage her 12 year
old son's interest in skateboarding.
She then went on to "Thrash"
(excuse the pun) the magazine.
My son started skateboarding
when he was 12. He is now almost
20, and I am proud to say that he is
THRASHER
decided to take a picture of it. After the
film was developed I decided to send
you guys a copy as a thank you for your
awesome mag!
I would appreciate it very much if you
would print this picture, which was taken

I'm a 15 year old in-liner writing
about the grudge that in-liner's and
skateboarder's have had forever. I don't
know how it started, but I'd like it to
stop. I feel skateboarders have it hard-
er and have a bad reputation. Some of
it they deserve, but some of it is

even have a
ramp in our
barn for his
friends and
him to skate
on. I LOVE to
watch them,
and
they
always wel-
come me. He
also has been
an avid reader
of Thrasher for
years. I even paid for his subscrip-
tions in the earlier years. It has not
corrupted him in any way, and I
feel that the magazine does pro-
mote the sport.
My son and his friends are very
responsible people. They do not
drink alcohol, take drugs, or even
use profane language. In my opin-
ion, other sports such as football,
hockey and basketball should have
such polite, cool people, like skate-
boarders, setting good examples for
their sport.
