WHY DON'T DO IT?
Skateboarding basically started when some guy took roller skates and nailed
them to a piece of wood. In those days if you wanted a skateboard, you made
your own. A little while later, small companies started to manufacture skate-
boards, but none of the sporting goods stores wanted anything to do with them.
This is a big sporting goods/toy store. There are
millions of stores like these, usually owned by a chain.

from day one. So what can you do? You
are ultimately in control- your choices of
what companies you support determines
the direction of the industry. Right now,

companies that make the products grow too.
These days some skate companies are pretty big,
but none are even half as big as the sporting
goods manufacturers, and no one has the same
widespread distribution that they do. And they're
gearing up to use that distribution right now.
