The search is on. We here at THRASHER mag are
asking the skaters of the world to show us your
spots. They can be anywhere and anything. Send
photos, videos, directions and a phone number, and,
who knows, we might bring a gang of rippers to
your local spot. Send burnt pirate treasure maps,
30-year-old photos, whatever

Tayva Gabrielle Martinez of
Winslow Arizona sends the fol-
lowing map of her town show-
ing the location of the kill
spots in town.
Dear Thrasher:
Looking for some spots? I sug-
gest you venture on out to
Arizona, 'cause skating is defi-
nitely on the rise out here. I live
in Winslow, a relatively small
town in the northern part of the
state. Just recently, I stumbled
upon something quite extrava-
gant (for Winslow, anyway).
Walking out in the desert, I dis-
covered an old water reser-
voir-banks, they're huge. With a
week's worth of hard work, it'll
be skateable. Hopefully it'll be a
prime session spot. The best things about
it: it's five miles out of the city limits, it's
by a river that's good for swimming, get-
ting faded, etc. It's very low key.
Besides the banks we've got the local city
pool-we've been sessioning this thing for
years. This pool has some very good tran-
sition. I can arrange for its use; I'm pretty
tight with the city recreation dept.
Unfortunately, the city fills the pool with
water annually, from June 1 to August 1.
Prescott, AZ-Outdoor park (YMCA),
sick wallrides, Slayer-driven hessians at
the post office, plus rad hills to bomb. Just
ask Tim McKenney.

About 90 miles from Winslow is Williams,
home of a newly built indoor wood
course. In addition to all of this, there's
Phoenix, host to the Beardsley and Cactus
banks, the Toilet Buckeye, and many other
bowls and pools, Desert West and the Zone
skate parks, and much more.
So hopefully I'll get to see some of you
guys out here... I've been working really
hard to get skating to be an up and coming
thing here in Winslow, as well as the rest
of the state.
P.S. Huge annual skate contest in Winslow,
June 6, 1998, thanks to the new Co*Op.
