            Guam Boarding
Dear Thrasher,
The Lost Island Paradise
As per our discussion, we would like to
invite you, Greg Carroll, Jovontae
Turner, and Dan Drehobl to Guam to
participate in a weekend alternative
sports extravaganza, island style, that
will include canoe paddling, surfing, jet
ski demos and skateboarding; a stage
presenting five local bands ranging from
reggae to funk to punk and jazz; product
giveaways; sticker tossing; and auto-
graph-signing surrounded by booths fea-
turing local product, Surfrider
Foundation info, barbecues and plate
lunches for all. Please respond.
Sincerely,
Stacie
Guam Surfrider Foundation
Gentlemen,
Things have been really crazy. I have
been out there selling my soul for the
event. We have a date: October 18th.
That date may have to be pushed back a
week or two unless the First Lady can
snap her fingers on our behalf and get
wood donated to us.
Later,
Stace
Urgent!!!
I am having a pow wow with the
surfers/skaters tonight. A lot of the
skaters are saying, "Shine the halfpipe
idea" and do more street, etc with maybe
a vert quarter-pipe somewhere. But the
surfers are sooo into the halfpipe and say,
"What a killer spectacle it will be"; they
wanna see the pros go off! Anyway, there
may be a verbal brawl at tonight's meet-
ing... What do I do?
Signed,
Stressed
Hi guys,
Please take a look at the attached.
This was the materials estimate
the First Lady received from her
carpenter. Apparently, he "wants
it to last"; hence, the 50 sheets of
Philippine Mahogany plywood at
$49.75 per sheet. If you don't
mind rewriting the materials list as
per the ramp designs you created,
these guys are ready to go. Oh,
having trouble finding Masonite;
how crucial is that little problem?
Toodles,
Stace
Boys,
Everything is all set. Can't wait
for your crew to get here. Kale
Sandridge will join you in
Honolulu. It's only 14 hours of fly-
ing time. Meanwhile, you should
see me on my Sector 9, workin it
Farrah Fawcett style.
ХОХО,
Island Girlie
Dear Thrasher,
Hafa Adai. Your presence along with
the visiting professionals helped us
reach our goal of helping the people of
Guam realize there is a huge population
of kids out here who are desperately
searching for something to do and that,
the skate scene on Guam is one to be
reckoned with. We succeeded in getting
the word out about keeping our oceans
and beaches clean, about the dangers of
drugs, and the many positive alterna-
tives available to all the kids on Guam.
News alert! Stacie may have talked the
government
into establishing
skatepark in an empty hangar which
the government owns, and this week-
end we will stage the first ever skate
contest here on Guam, using the ramps
from the demo. Again, thank you for
making the long trip out here to change
the path of skateboarding on our little
rock that could. This is now Thrasher
territory.
Thank You,
Stacie and Genevieve
