hard. I'm looking for a board sponsor.
Would you like to say anything else?
I'd like to say thanks for my friends-Jason, Paul, David; and all my
friends from Brazil and the United States, too. My special thanks for
Williams family.
In talking to Charles Chavez, he wanted me to understand that
although Brazil's a great place, it has problems of poverty and
crime he wasn't sure Americans knew about. He gave me a
crazy example of how his mother went out to get bread one
time and saw a head lying in the road.
You had so many places to come to in the United
States, why did you choose Torrance, California?
First of all, I used to live in San Francisco and was
skating by myself all the time because Bob Burnquist
skated vert all the time. And all my friends are in
Torrance so I'm

How long have you been here?
About one year and five months.
You
a were a pro in Brazil, and every-
body knew who you were. What is it
like coming to Torrance where nobody
knows you?
KHOW
I don't care about that stuff. I just come
to skate.
When you saw videos from the US, did it
seem different after you came out here?
I know in videos, you have to skate a lot and
get some footage and just work on that. I know
they're just skating.
What is better about Brazil?
When you go out, everybody is friendly. If
you come to a group of people, and you know
just one person, you're going to give five for
everybody. Down here, you're at a party, and
you just know one guy, the people are going
to give
their back to you, and you have fives
only for your friend.

there are no spots on the streets because the
streets are fucked up. You can only skate at
skateparks, and

streets, you feel free. Like at Ventura, you have
to wear knee pads, elbow pads.
What is the most frequently asked ques-
tion from Americans about Brazil?
Some friends ask if we have McDonald's,
if we have VCRs and shit. Brazil's not a
jungle, man.
Do people usually think you speak Spanish?
One time I was skating at Lockwood, and
some guys tried to come up and speak
Spanish, and I didn't understand anything.
Is there anything
else you I want
to say?
I want to say thanks for the Williams family
for helping me out, Bob, my friends for teaching
me English, all my friends in America, all my
friends in Brazil, Mike for the photos, and all
my friends all around the world.

Mizael Simao, he has found a

Do people ever tell you you look like
Omar Hassan?
At the German World Cup, they made a
mistake and called him Baby Omar.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yeah, Maha.
