Sometimes when attempting
tricks with a high degree of
difficulty such as a 180 or a tail
skid, even the best skateboard-

ers loose their balance. In a panic situation, it is most important
to concentrate on falling properly. Following these six funda-
mental steps can decrease a skateboarders chances of injury.
1) Pinpoint the area of impact. A soft area is best.
2) Approach with caution, and prepare to absorb the shock
of impact by bending the knees.

3) Tuck down, and use your momentum to carry body weight over the
top.
4) From here on in, a proper fall, or "bail", should mirror the stop, drop
and roll fire prevention technique.
5) Roll smoothly on your back,
keep limbs tucked.
6) Focus on getting back to your
feet.
