appeared to be your stereotypical
barefoot redneck, the loot he
earned bought an incredible record
collection. This is most likely
where the boys draw their inspira
tion: redneck living, a wide variety of
music, and serious tweaking.

SUPERLIGHT
Formed in Seattle a few years back
the band's seen a few lineup changes, but
now stands solid with Mark Pierce, Marky
Felchtone, Donny and Sonny, Aggro songs
about chicks, high-performance motor
vehicles, beer, fights, and drugs are what
they're all about, and they've come to kick
your sissy ass. High speed power assaults,
not too many chords, and lyrics spat out
like last night's cigarette-induced phlegm is
what you'll find on Flat Tracker and the
recently reissued first LP. Super Sound
Racing, which features the most fucked up
90
version of a Deep Purple song ("Highway
Star") ever. Not really a cover, Marky
admits that he likes to "take snippets of
lyrics from songs I listened to when I was a
kid. They've also got a few singles under
their belt, as well as a live 7" on Man's Ruin
currently in the works
Of course the band tours, and it's
one hell of a mess. What do you eat for
breakfast if you're Zeke on tour?
Barbecue. Cold Beers. That's it.
"Occasionally, chicken fried steak, taters
and gravy adds Mark Dickies of Dallas is
their fave spot, and although they only stop
by when they're on tour, they're recog
nized as regulars. "Best barbecue in the
Southwest." says Felchtone Punk tour sto-
ries are some of the funniest known to
mankind, and Zeke's got their fair
share-like the time Donny knocked out a
guy's tooth in Fort Collins and had the
whole crowd on their ass, plus the usual,
sleeping on cockroach-infested floors, van
problems, dealing with freaks, and injuries,
(most recently. Sonny got his fingers
slammed in the van door, which tends to
hinder your ability to play guitar...).
Mark used to ride his board around
when he was younger (and considerably
more agile) and used to hit Wet Willy's
Waterpark, the local skatepark back in the
day. Although they don't really skate any-
more, they always find themselves sur-
rounded by skaters. They even snuck into
the lineup at a party at Mike Ranquet's ramp
once a few years ago and pulled off their set
just before the cops showed. Zeke's advice
to all of the kids who come to check out
their shows: "Fuck on speed!"-Wez Lundry
