Top: The abundance of beautiful
cement skateparks have seduced
many a NorCal skater. Richard
Gankel launches this lofty roast
beef grab off of the sensuous curves
of Greer Park in Palo Alto.
Bottom: Speaking of beef, here's the
hipper of the month.
Top: 16-year-old Micky Winzeler takes care of his
Physical Education requirements with this academic
nose slide on the nicely greased benches at his high
school in Grayson, Georgia. Photo by Anthony Bowling.
Bottom: Tad, a young man from Coon Rapids, MN, is
afflicted with the rare disease Sevenplycerosis that caus-
es the patient's tongue to swell up into the shape of a
skateboard. Photo by Max Regan.
It's a little known fact that some of America's biggest
stars got their start on the pages of Photograffiti:
Snoop Doggy Dogg, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cindy
Crawford, and all of the members of Pearl Jam sent us
pictures of themselves doing their best skate tricks and
we gave them the little boost they needed to become
superstars. You could be next. Send in some pictures.

frontside 50/50 In Machias, Maine. Photo by Kris Larson.
Bottom: JI Vallera goes into deep concentration and pops
off the slight coping at the Grind in Sacto. Photo by Swope.
Top: Millions of years ago, skate dinosaurs did tricks that didn't
involve ollies. This is a rare sighting of Lenny the skateboarding
Brontosaurus locked into a slappy. The photo was taken by Jenn
Igou in a parking lot near Portsmouth, OH.
Middle: Obviously, redheads are the most gifted skaters to
grace the planet, as evidenced by this backside tailslide at Pier
7 in San Francisco by Dereck "the Red Dog" Feenstra.
Bottom: This is what happens when kids from the East Coast
come out to San Francisco, blatant desecration and disregard for
private property. New Jersey's Bruce Micheal Edwards vandal-
izes the Saint Mary's Church handrail. Photo by Ilya Weber.
