new rims and tires for his truck. While he was
cutting it, he imagined he'd kind of leave the back
a bit longer and crop the top like David Bowie.
Well, after he was finished, he wet and dried
It, spiked it, and played with it. While looking into
the mirror, he said to himself out loud, "This is ok.
It's all right." He no longer felt like his boss had
won, because it was what he wanted. Plus, after
looking in the mirror, he liked the new look.
Just before going to sleep, he set his alarm
clock. He was planning on getting up earlier than
usual so he could see his boss and get his
approval before leaving for a long day of
deliveries. As he was just about out, he was Imag-
Ining some of the different things his co-workers
might say. He smiled and thought it was funny how
big a deal people make over such small things. He
couldn't believe that he was almost willing to quit
just so he could keep his hair long. Finally he was
out completely and in the dream world.
When his alarm went off, and he woke up, he
had forgotten about his hair. Then he felt his head.
"Oh, yeah, I cut my hair!" It was no longer an
issue. He went into the restroom, brushed his
teeth, got his work clothes on, laced up his boots,
and was off. He made his usual stop for coffee. He
parked on the street instead of using the employ-
ee's lot. He wanted to surprise his boss, so be

through the front doors. He said hello to Abbie,
the receptionist, whom he had known the whole
