Joey Bast did backside nollie tailslides every time on a large
metal box. Chad Muska did the biggest frontside kickflips you'll
ever see. Chet Thomas barely missed the top ten with a blindside
hardflip body varial grab over a hip just after his time ran out.
Alan Petersen was skating with huge, soft, red Kryptonics. He
was seen bouncing over the pyramid and ollieing onto the large
wallride over the fence. Alan got tenth place for his efforts. Adam
McNatt 360 flipped to manual on top of a desk on the hip. That
was all he needed to get ninth. Wade Speyer blazed around the
course with five-o grinds on the fridge and airs onto the wallride
also. He had a few falls so ended it with eighth. Jamie Thomas did
many tweaked ollie grab variations, a big kickflip and tailslides on
the desk for a nice seventh place. Jeremy Wray pulled large ollies,
a nollie flip on a bank, 360' flip on another and then a large
kickflip on yet another bank in a row. He got sixth, what? Gershon
Mosely had power and style with large blindside ollies and melan-
chollies over the hips and 360' flips on the big bank. He touched
every obstacle on the course but had some falls and got fifth. Ed.
Templeton did just what many wanted to see, sick skating. He
wrapped impossible tailgrabs over hips and did a nose bluntslide
atop one of the desks, getting fourth place. Phil Shao is a name
you are hearing a lot more lately and there is good reason. He nose
manualed a desk atop a hip, blasted around the course at ease
and even atred over the fence to wallride with consistency. He got
third. Ethan Fowler styled his way around the course with smooth
crail airs and big backsides. Lien grabs and long five-o grinds were
no problem. He had second solid. But there could be no one in
first but Chris Senn. He nosegrinded a desk and switch backside.
ollied the same bank channel that he blindside kickflipped.
Besides doing frontside airs onto the wallride, he tried an alley-
oop backside air over the fence, predicting the future of skate-
boarding as staying big and fast.

AP SLAP
It was a banner year for Matt
Rodrigues (above), who easily
cleared the flower garden. Rick
Howard (right) tried to bribe the
audience into giving him some
extra applause by donating his
used board to the needy. Ethan
Fowler (opposite bottom) recy
cled an old metal fling cabinet
with backside 50/50 grinds.
While some people like to put
their feet up on their desks,
Henry Sanchez (opposite top)
likes to do tailslides on them
