dents? Maybe it
would make some
kids see that learn-
ing really isn't as
stupid as some of
their heroes would
make them believe.
So what it all boils
down to is this: they
can take your board,
your house or your
car, but they can
never, ever, ever,
let me wear the shirt because take away what you know.
I risked an ass-kicking around
minorities. Good thing she didn't
listen to Officer Fat Ass. I wore the
shirt all the time after that, and
no one even looked at me funny.
Anyway, don't let anyone tell you
Independent is a Nazi company
because we all know that skin-
heads are too "cool" to skate.
Anyway, we don't want that crap.

Every Thrasher I read kicks ass. I
really like reading your awesome
articles. I do have a few sugges
tions, though. Maybe you could
print more pictures of Rosa. That
would be really cool! You know
what really pisses me off? Bikers
and rollerbladers never
get accosted by
cops to get off the
road. But skaters
do! Aren't we are
all the samel Can't
we all get along?

As I thumbed through my new
Thrasher, I was amazed to see the
photo of the police officer riding
the mini-ramp in Vermont. Well,
I am a 31 year old high school
teacher who loves to skate and
snowboard, and I think we deserve
to be represented in your maga-
zine as well. I believe that there is
something very cool about a cop
skating with kids because it shows
that maybe we might not be
banned from the planet after all,
Now picture this: what if more
teachers skated with their stu-

BUZZ WORD
All of these people claiming
that they're "punk" make me sick.
Punk's not a word you find in the
dictionary. Punk is what you make
of it. Pretty soon everyone will be
walking around with spiked hair
and Misfits shirts, claiming they've
been into the punk scene for a
long time, and now all of the sud-
den the punk inside of them is just
burning to get out and express
itself. I'm not saying I've been
around forever and I know all
'cause I don't. I'm just a 16 year
old skater who's
been listening to
punk a lot longer
than all these
pretty boys sup-
porting the
"rock revolu-
tion." But what
I wanted to say
is, anyone can
play dress up and walk
around with a frown, but I think
you'd be surprised how many real
"punkers" there are who don't
care to take part in your little cos-
tume party. What I want to know
is, when punk goes underground
again, and it will, how many of you
trendy motherfuckers are going to
stick around for the ride?
