Mark Roth
Sponsorless, fearless and often shirtless Mark
Roth is not your average up and comer. Since the
first day he showed up at the Boulder skatepark
with his elastic-wastebanded Powell shorts and
eleven-inch wide board, Mark "Bag of Tricks"
Roth has provided us with non-stop entertainment
and wormed his way into out hearts with his cat-
with-tape-on-the-paws style and willingness to
take slam after belly-flopping slam. In between
getting a smaller board and making trips to the
physical therapist (and sliding down the vert ramp
on his head, Roth has improved dramatically and
will make even the hardest of street dogs stand
up and scream when he pulls out his gigantic
triple-tweaked airs and perplexing combinations
(including kickflip Indys where he grabs the board
upside down and makes it by chucking it at his
feet). When not skating, Roth can be found climb
ing mountains, giggling through finals and drink.
ing gallons of Coca-Cola, (not to mention enter-
taining the ladies, whoo boy!) Just come by the
Boulder skatepark and look for the guy who's
either doing eight-foot methods or coughing up
blood that's our Roth -Michael Burnett
CAMOUFLAGE
Tony Cox
How old are you and where do you live?
I'm 19 years old, not including the nine
months in my mother's womb. I now live in
Encinitas, CA, but I originally came from the
Bluegrass State. I grew up in Louisville, KY.
What made you decide to move?
I just came out here to be on my own, I didn't
really think about the skating.
How is
skating
different
in Cali
fornia than where you grew up in Kentucky?
They are two completely different worlds.
Skating in Kentucky was more about having
fun and skating with your friends. Whereas in
California it seems more like you're always
being critiqued by all the industry kids.
Who are your sponsors?
ATM, Union and Duffs shoes.
Chris
Yourgalite

How long have you been

I'm not really sure,
because I'm never home.
Where do you skate?
Norristown High, Love
Park and University City.
Who do you skate with?
Bill. Dan P. Scott,
Franco, Dan M. Poncho
and the Weidman Crew.
What do you do besides skate?
I go to school, hang with my friends, and
Snowboard in the winter.
Any closing words?
I'd like to thank my mom and dad, Jamie
from Cool Runnings and of all my friends.
