On the over-vertical wall added on to the original
transitions at Aala Park in Oahu, Hawaii, Jamie Reyes
(above) hangs a noseslide fakie. Somewhere in the
Scandinavian wilderness, Veith Kilberth (opposite)
spreads his wings on a tall ollie to fakie. Heading up
the dream come true trannies of Burnside, Pigpen and
Neil Heddings (sequence) split a dual frontside line.
Transition is the curvature between the realms of flat ground
and the dark recesses of vertical reality. It is the doorway
to another state of existence where spiders cling and
only hearty humans dare tread. A good tranny is
as smooth and sweet as a mama's teat. Some
are big and some are small, and some take
a bit of elbow grease to work through,
but without a way to the top, we'd
all be stuck at the bottom.
