SUPERNOVA
FROM OUTER SPACE.
Their home star, Cynot 3, went supernova,
so they escaped to Costa Mesa, California,
where they assumed the identities of earth-
lings. They infiltrate the minds of the younger
generation via their quirky, catchy new waveri
an stylings, and they turn
kids astray by encouraging
bad habits like drooling,
growing your hair out and
getting tattoos.
Supernova also sing about
their favorite fellow alien,
Chewbacca, and Hong Kong.
where, "The best movies
come from. Some compare
them to Devo, but there's
too much pogo-punkness for
the label to stick
They came down to my
town recently, and after
giving me a a communicator
pin, I was able to ask them
questions and understand
their replies.
"Why are you on earth?" I queried these
other-worldly fellows. "The earth is rich in foil,
and that's what we need to survive," they said.
"It's the key to our success. It's shiny."
"Why is there a mannequin in the band?" I
asked. "Low maintenance. Sweet ass."
On maintaining their earth identities: "See,
we go overboard with the space thing, and
people think we're joking. Then we can gather
all of the tin foil that we need."
On their home species: "We evolved from
dolphins on our planet. See, dolphins don't
have eyebrows, and
neither do we. Have
you ever seen a dolphin
with eyebrows?"
They drool, they
shine, they erupt into
flame. Supernova is an
intergalactic force that
you, yourself, may have
to reckon with.
In closing, Supernova
has this message to
give to all the doubting
earthlings: "Never
underestimate the
power of tin foil.
Silver sound wafer on
the way!"
